It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, is a bookish meme hosted by
One Person's Journey Through a World of Books, where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It’s a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list. So hop on over to Journey and join in...and leave a comment here so I can check out what you are reading.
Books I Read Last Week:
I really liked this one. :) I especially enjoyed all the music-related stuff, since I'm totally a sucker for that...plus, George is British. *dreamy sigh* haha It was a wonderful story. I do wish that we got some kind of epilogue or something with George and Lexi in the future though. I just wasn't ready to be done with those two yet. ;)
I had an egalley of this that expired a while ago, and I finally got the chance to finish it. :) I'm so glad I did because it was fantastic! There are some slight similarities between
Ironskin and
Jane Eyre, but honestly it was when I finally started to move past the similarities that I really started to enjoy it. I think it's more accurately inspired by
Jane Eyre, with some characters' names that are similar, but overall, I think it's a very strong story on its own, and I loved the fey element! So neat! I can't wait to read the second book,
Copperhead! :D
Reading Now:
This one is for my American Lit class and it's kind of strange so far...the timeline is very very strange, but at least it's a short one. :P I'm hoping it'll make more sense soon. haha
Books I Want to Read This Week:
I'm participating in a blog tour for this one, and it sounds really good! :D Hopefully I can finish
Black Water soon, and get to
Strength! :D
And what are you reading???
boo for expired galleys, I hate that! Your first title looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteHere is my Bookish Memes post.
Have a great week!
haha well, I got to finish it eventually at least. :P But expired galleys do suck, especially when life gets in the way and you can't finish it. :P
DeleteThanks, and the same to you! :)
Oh literature classes. :) Don't you love reading a book that keeps the WTF? look on your face the whole time! I've had a few books like that in my book club. I guess that might explain why I don't go anymore!
ReplyDeletehaha oh ya...love it to bits. :P haha It's definitely one of the things I won't miss about University English classes when I'm done. haha
DeleteI'm totally in love with the Ironskin cover. Mysterious and enchanting at the same time. Enjoy reading!
ReplyDeleteTake a look at what I'm reading this week.
I really love it, too. :) It fits the book extremely well, too! :)
DeleteI hated "having" to read books for school. I wish they wouldn't make it a chore because it just makes people less appreciative of what otherwise may be good books.
ReplyDeleteI agree! Sometimes I don't mind reading books through school, and I've really enjoyed some, but others need to be read at your own pace...and when you have to read it in a specified amount of time, it makes it hard to enjoy it sometimes.
DeleteRe. Joyce Carol Oates... do you follow her on Twitter? You really must...it's the strangest account. I can't decide if it's really her or if it's a parody.
ReplyDeleteEven if it is her, I'd believe it was pretty strange. haha Black Water itself was quite a unique story, and her style is definitely one-of-a-kind. I'll have to check it out, so thanks for telling me about it, Laura. :)
DeletePlaying Along looks like a good one. Hope you enjoy your reading this week! Here's my weekly reading list if you'd like to stop by ...

It was! :D Thanks, Tanya! I hope you do, too!
DeleteWow, IronSkin sounds amazing, I think I need to try this one! Is it the start of a series? It sort of sounds like it might be...
ReplyDeleteIt is the first book, but I'm not sure how many there will be. There is a sequel called Copperhead coming out in October though. :) I'm definitely looking forward to it and I hope if you read it, you love it, too. :)
