It's Monday, What Are You Reading? (95)

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? at One Person's Journey Through a World of Books

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, is a bookish meme hosted by One Person's Journey Through a World of Books, where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It’s a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list. So hop on over to Journey and join in...and leave a comment here so I can check out what you are reading.

Books I Read Last Week:
I really liked this one. :) I especially enjoyed all the music-related stuff, since I'm totally a sucker for that...plus, George is British. *dreamy sigh* haha It was a wonderful story. I do wish that we got some kind of epilogue or something with George and Lexi in the future though. I just wasn't ready to be done with those two yet. ;)

I had an egalley of this that expired a while ago, and I finally got the chance to finish it. :) I'm so glad I did because it was fantastic! There are some slight similarities between Ironskin and Jane Eyre, but honestly it was when I finally started to move past the similarities that I really started to enjoy it. I think it's more accurately inspired by Jane Eyre, with some characters' names that are similar, but overall, I think it's a very strong story on its own, and I loved the fey element! So neat! I can't wait to read the second book, Copperhead! :D

Reading Now:
This one is for my American Lit class and it's kind of strange so far...the timeline is very very strange, but at least it's a short one. :P I'm hoping it'll make more sense soon. haha

Books I Want to Read This Week:
I'm participating in a blog tour for this one, and it sounds really good! :D Hopefully I can finish Black Water soon, and get to Strength! :D

And what are you reading???

Check out One Person's Journey Through a World of Books to see what others are reading. :)

    1. haha well, I got to finish it eventually at least. :P But expired galleys do suck, especially when life gets in the way and you can't finish it. :P

Thanks, and the same to you! :)

  2. Oh literature classes. :) Don't you love reading a book that keeps the WTF? look on your face the whole time! I've had a few books like that in my book club. I guess that might explain why I don't go anymore!

  4. I hated "having" to read books for school. I wish they wouldn't make it a chore because it just makes people less appreciative of what otherwise may be good books.

    1. I agree! Sometimes I don't mind reading books through school, and I've really enjoyed some, but others need to be read at your own pace...and when you have to read it in a specified amount of time, it makes it hard to enjoy it sometimes.

  5. Re. Joyce Carol Oates... do you follow her on Twitter? You really must...it's the strangest account. I can't decide if it's really her or if it's a parody.

    1. Even if it is her, I'd believe it was pretty strange. haha Black Water itself was quite a unique story, and her style is definitely one-of-a-kind. I'll have to check it out, so thanks for telling me about it, Laura. :)

    1. It is the first book, but I'm not sure how many there will be. There is a sequel called Copperhead coming out in October though. :) I'm definitely looking forward to it and I hope if you read it, you love it, too. :)
