LYING OUT LOUD
by Kody Keplinger

Hitting the shelves on April 28, 2015 from Poppy

Kody Keplinger returns to the world of The DUFF in this brand-new companion novel!

Sonny Ardmore is an excellent liar. She lies about her dad being in prison. She lies about her mom kicking her out. And she lies about sneaking into her best friend's house every night because she has nowhere else to go.

Amy Rush might be the only person Sonny shares everything with -- secrets, clothes, even a nemesis named Ryder Cross.

Ryder's the new kid at Hamilton High and everything Sonny and Amy can't stand -- a prep-school snob. But Ryder has a weakness: Amy. So when Ryder emails Amy asking her out, the friends see it as a prank opportunity not to be missed.

But without meaning to, Sonny ends up talking to Ryder all night online. And to her horror, she realizes that she might actually like him. Only there's one small catch: he thinks he's been talking to Amy. So Sonny comes up with an elaborate scheme to help Ryder realize that she's the girl he's really wanted all along. Can Sonny lie her way to the truth, or will all her lies end up costing her both Ryder and Amy?

THE DARKEST PART OF THE FOREST
by Holly Black

Hitting the shelves on January 13, 2015 from Little, Brown Books for Young Readers

Children can have a cruel, absolute sense of justice. Children can kill a monster and feel quite proud of themselves. A girl can look at her brother and believe they’re destined to be a knight and a bard who battle evil. She can believe she’s found the thing she’s been made for.

Hazel lives with her brother, Ben, in the strange town of Fairfold where humans and fae exist side by side. The faeries’ seemingly harmless magic attracts tourists, but Hazel knows how dangerous they can be, and she knows how to stop them. Or she did, once.

At the center of it all, there is a glass coffin in the woods. It rests right on the ground and in it sleeps a boy with horns on his head and ears as pointed as knives. Hazel and Ben were both in love with him as children. The boy has slept there for generations, never waking.

Until one day, he does…

As the world turns upside down, Hazel tries to remember her years pretending to be a knight. But swept up in new love, shifting loyalties, and the fresh sting of betrayal, will it be enough?

MY THOUGHTS

I absolutely love Holly Black's writing, and she tells such wonderful stories, so I can't wait to read The Darkest Part of the Forest! The story sounds creepy, fascinating, and super duper intriguing! I'm definitely excited for to get a copy of this one in my hands...hopefully sooner rather than later! ;D haha

LOVE & OTHER THEORIES
by Alexis Bass

Hitting the shelves on December 31, 2014 from HarperTeen

If you want more, you have to give less.

That’s the secret to dating in high school. By giving as little as they expect to get in return, seventeen-year-old Aubrey Housing and her three best friends have made it to the second semester of their senior year heartbreak-free. And it’s all thanks to a few simple rules: don’t commit, don’t be needy, and don’t give away your heart.

So when smoking-hot Nathan Diggs transfers to Lincoln High, it shouldn’t be a big deal. At least that’s what Aubrey tells herself. But Nathan’s new-boy charm, his kindness, and his disarming honesty throw Aubrey off her game and put her in danger of breaking the most important rule of all: Don’t fall in love.

MY THOUGHTS

I've been wanting to read this one for a while now, and it's finally getting closer! I'm a big fan of contemporaries, and I think that this one sounds awesome! I can't wait to get to know Aubrey, and see her get worn down by "smoking-hot" Nathan. ;P I also just love this cover! I remember seeing it back when it was revealed, and I loved it. :)

Waiting on Wednesday (29): MR. KISS AND TELL!!!

"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It gives us the chance to fangirl over all of the books that we can't wait to read!

MR. KISS AND TELL (Veronica Mars #2)
by Rob Thomas and Jennifer Graham

Hitting the shelves on October 28, 2014 from Vintage

In the second book in the New York Times bestselling mystery series, Veronica Mars is back with a case that will expose the hidden workings of one of Neptune’s most murderous locations.

The Neptune Grand has always been the seaside town’s ritziest hotel, despite the shady dealings and high-profile scandals that seem to follow its elite guests. When a woman claims that she was brutally assaulted in one of its rooms and left for dead by a staff member, the owners know that they have a potential powder keg on their hands. They turn to Veronica to disprove—or prove—the woman's story.

The case is a complicated mix of hard facts, mysterious occurrences, and uncooperative witnesses. The hotel refuses to turn over its reservation list and the victim won’t divulge who she was meeting that night. Add in the facts that the attack happened months ago, the victim’s memory is fuzzy, and there are holes in the hotel’s surveillance system, and Veronica has a convoluted mess on her hands. As she works to fill in the missing pieces, it becomes clear that someone is lying—but who? And why?

MY THOUGHTS

I loved the first Veronica Mars book, and I'm really excited to read this one! :D I'm crossing my fingers that Logan shows up a bit more because I can seriously never get enough of him, but who knows if he will. :P Either way, I'm definitely intrigued by this case. It has me curious though...I wonder if all of the books will be about or involve murders, or if they'll have some other types of cases. Neptune's a pretty small town, so hopefully Veronica won't have to solve murders in order to get cases. It'd also be awesome if she had some case that brought her back to Neptune High for some reason. :D

Who else can't wait for Mr. Kiss and Tell?

Waiting on Wednesday (28): Perfect Couple!!!

"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It gives us the chance to fangirl over all of the books that we can't wait to read!

PERFECT COUPLE (SUPERLATIVES #2) by Jennifer Echols

Hitting the shelves on January 15, 2014 from Simon Pulse

Perfect Couple is #2 in the Superlatives series about seniors at a Florida high school who are selected for their class's superlative categories in the yearbook, and how the labels change the way they view themselves and alter the course of their lives.

Can your heart be put to a popular vote?

As yearbook photographer, Harper is responsible for capturing those candid moments that make high school memorable. But her own life is anything but picture perfect. Her parents' bitter divorce has left her wondering what a loving relationship would look like. And ever since the senior class voted her and star quarterback Brody the “Perfect Couple That Never Was,” her friends have been on her case to ask Brody out.

Brody doesn’t lack in female admirers, but Harper can't see herself with him. He seems confused about why they were matched together, too. They’re total opposites—the last people in the world who would ever be compatible, let alone the “perfect couple.” Yet ever since the class paired the two of them, they've found themselves drawn together--first by curiosity, then by an undeniable bond.

The trouble is, though they're very attracted to each other and both of them admit this, they have a hard time getting along or even communicating clearly. If they’re the perfect couple, this shouldn’t be so difficult! Soon it becomes clear their class was wrong, and they throw in the towel. But after they walk away, both of them feel so changed from making the effort that they can’t forget each other. What if that means this match made in hell is the perfect couple after all?

MY THOUGHTS

First, I just have to say that I am a ginormous Jennifer Echols fangirl....I absolutely adore her writing style, and LOVE her characters!!! :D Second, I DEVOURED Biggest Flirts, the first book in the Superlatives, and I loved it so freaking much! Ever since I read it, I've been super eager to read Harper's and Kaye's stories. This one is Harper's, and I am so EXCITED!!!! :D I also can't wait to get to see how Tia and Will are....I just love getting cameos of past characters in companion series!!!! :D Perfect Couple seriously CANNOT release fast enough for my liking...I can't wait!!! :P

Every Day meets Cloud Atlas in this heart-racing, space- and time-bending, epic new trilogy from New York Times bestselling author Claudia Gray.

Marguerite Caine’s physicist parents are known for their radical scientific achievements. Their most astonishing invention: the Firebird, which allows users to jump into parallel universes, some vastly altered from our own. But when Marguerite’s father is murdered, the killer—her parent’s handsome and enigmatic assistant Paul—escapes into another dimension before the law can touch him.

Marguerite can’t let the man who destroyed her family go free, and she races after Paul through different universes, where their lives entangle in increasingly familiar ways. With each encounter she begins to question Paul’s guilt—and her own heart. Soon she discovers the truth behind her father’s death is more sinister than she ever could have imagined.

A Thousand Pieces of You explores a reality where we witness the countless other lives we might lead in an amazingly intricate multiverse, and ask whether, amid infinite possibilities, one love can endure.

I haven't read any of Claudia Gray's other books yet, but I am extremely intrigued by A Thousand Pieces of You...and I have to admit that this cover really caught my eye! But she finds a new kind of prison at her aunt’s South Carolina plantation instead--a prison guarded by an ancient spirit who long ago cursed one of the three founding families of Watson Island and gave the others magical gifts that became compulsions.

Stuck with the ghosts of a generations-old feud and hunted by forces she cannot see, Barrie must find a way to break free of the family legacy. With the help of sun-kissed Eight Beaufort, who knows what Barrie wants before she knows herself, the last Watson heir starts to unravel her family's twisted secrets. DIRTY ROWDY THING (WILD SEASONS #2)
by CHRISTINA LAUREN

Hitting the shelves on November 4, 2014 from Gallery Books

Despite their rowdy hookups, Harlow and Finn don’t even like each other...which would explain why their marriage lasted only twelve hours. He needs to be in charge and takes whatever he wants. She lives by the Want-something-done? Do-it-yourself mantra. Maybe she’s too similar to the rugged fisherman—or just what he needs.

MY THOUGHTS

I absolutely LOVED the first book in the Wild Seasons series, Sweet Filthy Boy, and I've been eagerly anticipating its sequels!!! I also loved the glimpses of Harlow and Finn that we got in Sweet Filthy Boy...so I seriously CANNOT wait to read their story in Dirty Rowdy Thing. Plus, Finn is Canadian so he gets bonus points for that. ;D haha

THE BLOOD OF OLYMPUS (The Heroes of Olympus #5) by Rick Riordan

Hitting the shelves on October 7, 2014 from Disney-Hyperion (Twitter: @DisneyHyperion)

Though the Greek and Roman crewmembers of the Argo II have made progress in their many quests, they still seem no closer to defeating the earth mother, Gaea. Her giants have risen—all of them—and they're stronger than ever. They must be stopped before the Feast of Spes, when Gaea plans to have two demigods sacrificed in Athens. She needs their blood—the blood of Olympus—in order to wake.

The demigods are having more frequent visions of a terrible battle at Camp Half-Blood. The Roman legion from Camp Jupiter, led by Octavian, is almost within striking distance. Though it is tempting to take the Athena Parthenos to Athens to use as a secret weapon, the friends know that the huge statue belongs back on Long Island, where it "might" be able to stop a war between the two camps.

The Athena Parthenos will go west; the Argo II will go east. The gods, still suffering from multiple personality disorder, are useless. How can a handful of young demigods hope to persevere against Gaea's army of powerful giants? As dangerous as it is to head to Athens, they have no other option. They have sacrificed too much already. And if Gaea wakes, it is game over.

MY THOUGHTS

Now that I'm all caught up with the Heroes of Olympus series, I absolutely CANNOT wait to read The Blood of Olympus! :D I can't wait to read about what happens to Percy, Annabeth, Jason, Nico, Piper, Frank, Leo, and Hazel! Seriously...this book CANNOT come out fast enough!!! AND I CAN'T EXPRESS HOW EXCITED I AM FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

THE REVENGE OF SEVEN (Lorien Legacies #5) by Pittacus Lore

Hitting the shelves on August 26, 2014 from HarperCollins

The worst was supposed to be over. We were reunited after a decade apart. We were discovering the truth of our past. We were training and getting stronger every day. We were even happy...

We never imagined the Mogodorians could turn one of our own against us. We were fools for trusting Five. And now Eight is lost forever. I would do anything to bring him back, but that's impossible. Instead, I will do whatever it takes to destroy every last one of them.

I've spent my entire life hiding from them, and they've stolen everything away from me. But that stops now. We're going to take the battle to them. We have a new ally who knows their weaknesses. And I finally have the power to fight back.

They caught Number One in Malaysia.

Number Two in England.

Number Three in Kenya.

And Number Eight in Florida.

They killed them all.

I am Number Seven.

I will make them pay.

MY THOUGHTS

I have totally fallen behind with this series, and still need to read THE FALL OF FIVE, but I am still super excited for THE REVENGE OF SEVEN to come out!!! As far as I can tell, this one is the last in the series, and sometimes I do kind of like waiting to read books until the last one comes out, so maybe it's a good thing that I'm behind in the Lorien Legacies. :P haha I really am excited to finally have this book on my shelf though! "Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It gives us the chance to fangirl over all of the books that we can't wait to read!

THE YOUNG ELITES (The Young Elites #1) by Marie Lu

Hitting the shelves on October 7, 2014 from Putnam Juvenile

I am tired of being used, hurt, and cast aside.

Adelina Amouteru is a survivor of the blood fever. A decade ago, the deadly illness swept through her nation. Most of the infected perished, while many of the children who survived were left with strange markings. Adelina’s black hair turned silver, her lashes went pale, and now she has only a jagged scar where her left eye once was. Her cruel father believes she is a malfetto, an abomination, ruining their family’s good name and standing in the way of their fortune. But some of the fever’s survivors are rumored to possess more than just scars—they are believed to have mysterious and powerful gifts, and though their identities remain secret, they have come to be called the Young Elites.

Teren Santoro works for the king. As Leader of the Inquisition Axis, it is his job to seek out the Young Elites, to destroy them before they destroy the nation. He believes the Young Elites to be dangerous and vengeful, but it’s Teren who may possess the darkest secret of all.

Enzo Valenciano is a member of the Dagger Society. This secret sect of Young Elites seeks out others like them before the Inquisition Axis can. But when the Daggers find Adelina, they discover someone with powers like they’ve never seen.
Adelina wants to believe Enzo is on her side, and that Teren is the true enemy. But the lives of these three will collide in unexpected ways, as each fights a very different and personal battle. But of one thing they are all certain: Adelina has abilities that shouldn’t belong in this world. A vengeful blackness in her heart. And a desire to destroy all who dare to cross her.

It is my turn to use. My turn to hurt.

MY THOUGHTS

Eeek!! The Young Elites sounds like an AMAZING story!!! I still have to read Marie Lu's Legend Trilogy, but I really CANNOT wait to read this one. It sounds like a wonderful blend of fantasy and dystopian, and I'm really intrigued by the description! :D
