In My Mailbox (10)

In My Mailbox at The Story Siren

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren, and inspired by her friend, Alea of Pop Culture Junkie. It's a way to share the books that you've received over the past week. They could come from the bookstore, the library, a friend, your mailbox or wherever. It gives us all a chance to showcase the books that we've gotten, and maybe give others an idea for the book they want to read or buy next. :)

From the Library:

The Mockingbirds (The Mockingbirds #1) by Daisy Whitney
 Birthmarked (Birthmarked #1) by Caragh M. O'Brien
 Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion
 Crossing Lines by Paul Volponi
 Rival by Sara Bennett Wealer
 Stupid Fast by Geoff Herbach

One of the best things about being back at school is that there's an outpost for the local public library right on campus, it's awesome. I definitely took advantage of it this week...and I probably shouldn't be adding even more books to my huge TBR, but I couldn't resist! I already finished Warm Bodies, and I loved it! One of my favourite zombie books by far, this one will blow you away! :D I'm also pretty excited for the other 5 I got, they've all been on my list for a while. :D

From NetGalley:

 Radiant Desire by Inara Scott
Henry the 8th: Wolfman  by A.E. Moorat

I only got two from NetGalley this week, so that's not too bad. I hope to get to read these ones soon. I'm a fan of the whole spoof of classic stories, so I'm looking forward to Henry VIII: Wolfman, and I'm also looking forward to Radiant Desire. :)

 Won:

Sweet Venom (Medusa Girls #1) by Tera Lynn Childs (from Tera Lynn Child's Title Hunt for Sweet Shadows, Medusa Girls #2)
Possession (Possession #1) by Elana Johnson (from Ivy at Ivy Reads)

I was pretty lucky to win both of these books, especially since they're both signed. :D Zoe told me it was karma that won me Sweet Venom because I passed my ARC onto her, and I'm happy with that explanation...and very happy to have a copy of SV, since I was planning on buying a finished copy anyways. :P Possession is one that I've had my eyes on for a while, so I was thrilled when I won a copy! :D

-----------------------

 Bought/Freebie from Amazon Kindle Store:
Bright Young Things (Bright Young Things #1) by Anna Godbersen (Free at Amazon's Kindle Store, here)
The Queen's Lady (Thornleigh #1) by Barbara Kyle (on sale for $1.99)

The Emerald Talisman by Brenda Pandos is also free for Kindle right now, here's the link
I'm always open to getting free books for my Kindle, especially ones that I already want to read, and Bright Young Things even has some bonus content, which is pretty neat. :D The Queen's Lady just sounded good to me, and I couldn't pass up on it only being $1.99. :D

Bought from BookCloseOuts.ca:

Once Dead, Twice Shy (Madison Avery Trilogy #1) by Kim Harrison
 Forbidden Boy by Hailey Abbott
The Other Boy by Hailey Abbott
Flirting With Boys by Hailey Abbott
 Boy Crazy by Hailey Abbott
 Ophelia by Lisa M. Klein
You Are So Undead To Me (Megan Berry #1) by Stacey Jay
Fame, Glory and Other Things on My To-Do List by Janette Rallison
My Fair Godmother (My Fair Godmother #1) by Janette Rallison
How to Take the Ex Out of Ex-Boyfriend by Janette Rallison
  by Lois H. Gresh
Footfree and Fancyloose by Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain
 Saving Juliet by Suzanne Selfors
Pretty Tough (Pretty Tough #1) by Liz Tigelaar
Guyaholic (V Valentine #2) by Carolyn Mackler

As you can see...I once again succumbed to the power of the sale on BookCloseOuts! They're deals are just too tempting! I ended up paying about $46 for all these books, so I was super happy with that, especially since I've been wanting to read some of them for a while. :D I'll have to buy a couple sequels now...but that's not too bad. :P lol

-----------------------

Well that was my mailbox for the week! It was definitely a lot...although a book I was actually hoping to come didn't this week. One that I ordered for school, so that sucks, but I'm crossing my fingers that it shows up on Monday, or even Tuesday because I need it for class. :-S If I have to I guess I'll just buy another copy though. Anyways. This will probably the last huge IMM in a while since I'm trying not to buy as many because I'm back at school, but I know I have a few things coming in, so it won't be totally empty. :)  By the way...those links took forever! :P lol

I'd like to thank Tera Lynn Childs, Elana Johnson, and Ivy for the books that I won that came in this week, and NetGalley, too. I hope that everyone else got some great goodies in their mailboxes this week, and feel free to leave a link for your IMM in the comments, I'd love to know what you got. :D

Happy Reading!!!

  4. Ooh those are such good library books!! That's so cool how the library is right on campus like that. Western has a zillion libraries, but you definitely need to go off campus for the public library. But no complaints, I live only a few minutes away from the closest one. =)

Ah, Bookcloseouts is so tempting, isn't it? All those ones look like a lot of fun, I've read at least half of them I think.

  5. Glad to see I wasn't the only one with a huge Bookcloseouts box!

Also MOVE BIRTHMARKED TO THE TOP OF YOUR LIST.

and Jellicoe Road will definitely be one of my first reads when I finally get to my books. Sigh, I really need to stay away from buying as well! I hope your school book arrives, having to buy a second copy sucks.

Will do! I want to read it before the egalley of Prized expires on NetGalley, too!

Ya...I think we both need to slow down with the deals. :P I know :( I'm hoping it comes on Monday and then my dad can drop it off or something.

  8. So many Great books! Tons! I don't really understand book close outs. I have been on it twice and I could not figure out how to find books. I typed some in the search and nothing came up. Any tips? lol
