[Blog Tour Review] CONFESSIONS OF A NAUGHTY NANNY (The Baileys #6) by Piper Rayne

CONFESSIONS OF A NAUGHTY NANNY
(The Baileys #6)
By Piper Rayne
Source: Received from Wildfire Marketing Solutions to participate in blog tour.
Release Date: January 7, 2020
DESCRIPTION:

When a famous music producer moves to Lake Starlight it can’t just be a coincidence. It’s the universe helping to move things along in the right direction so that Griffin Thorne can discover me.

I have to confess—I’ll do whatever it takes to make that happen.

Confession #1: I may have overhead that he was in search of a nanny. What can I say? My brother has a big mouth.

Confession #2: It’s possible I helped along the assumption that I had nanny experience. Hey, babysitting my nieces and nephew counts, right?

Confession #3: There’s a good chance I oversold my qualifications. But my Grandma Dori backed me up, so it’s not completely my fault.

And it worked. He hired me. Only for me to find out that he left the business.
I guess it’s on to Plan B.

When he accidentally overhears me singing, I expect nothing from him. Then he asks to work with me on a song for our town’s Founder’s Day Parade and it feels like a dream come true. Until...

Confession #4: I’ve fallen for him.

REVIEW

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this one because until now we’ve only gotten a tiny peek into who Phoenix is, but oh boy, I was super pleasantly surprised!

We’re working our way through all of the Bailey siblings as they find love and in this book, we’re focusing on one of the youngest Bailey siblings, Phoenix! I was so glad to finally get a clearer picture on who she was and I really loved her character. Phoenix was fierce, she was determined, and I love how she speaks her mind...sometimes purposely for the shock value, especially when teasing her twin sister, Sedona, is involved.

In regards to the romance aspect of this one, I loved it so much and I really loved Phoenix and Griffin! Their chemistry was off the charts and their relationship dynamics were really interesting—I especially loved how they balanced each other out. I loved that they shared certain similarities, but also that they approached things in such different ways. What I loved most though was how they grew to understand each other and that their relationship evolved in such an authentic and organic way...so, so good!

Overall, I thought this was an absolutely amazing addition to this series! I’m still loving seeing all of the family dynamics and I really adore how with each book we continue to see the past couples and that they all continue to evolve and grow! If you’re a fan of companion series that are sexy, sweet, and full of heart, don’t sleep on this series! It’s quickly become one of my favourites and I have loved every single book so far! 🥰

[Review] MEET CUTE by Helena Hunting

Source: Received a sample copy through Hachette Book Group Canada for #SuperSexyBookClub
Publisher: Forever
Release Date: April 9, 2019
Number of Pages: 384 (Paperback)

DESCRIPTION

Talk about an embarrassing introduction. On her first day of law school, Kailyn ran - quite literally - into the actor she crushed on as a teenager, ending with him sprawled on top of her. Mortified to discover the Daxton Hughes was also a student in her class, her embarrassment over their meet-cute quickly turned into a friendship she never expected. Of course, she never saw his betrayal coming either...

Now, eight years later, Dax is in her office asking for legal advice. Despite her anger, Kailyn can't help feeling sorry for the devastated man who just became sole guardian to his thirteen-year-old sister. But when her boss gets wind of Kailyn's new celebrity client, there's even more at stake than Dax's custody issues: if she gets Dax to work at their firm, she'll be promoted to partner.

The more time Kailyn spends with Dax and his sister, the more she starts to feel like a family, and the more she realizes the chemistry they had all those years ago is as fresh as ever. But will they be able to forgive the mistakes of the past, or will one betrayal lead to another?

REVIEW

First Impressions...

I absolutely loved MEET CUTE! It was sweet, funny, sexy, and also soooooo heart-wrenching! It had me feeling all the feels and I loved every minute of it! Kailyn and Daxton were amazing! I loved their chemistry, their banter, and I loved seeing their relationship evolve!!! I’ve yet to meet a Helena Hunting book that I didn’t love, so I’m not surprised that this one was a bit hit! It was an absolute pleasure to read and I highly recommend it to rom com fans, especially if you like your rom coms a bit heavier with a whole lot of heart!

This Book In 5 Words:

Sexy. Fun. Emotional. Daddylicious. Amazing.

What Did I Like:

- EVERYTHING!!! This was easily one of my favourite books this year already...so much to love!

- Kailyn and Dax. I absolutely loved both of them as individuals, and I absolutely ADORED them together! Their chemistry and banter were fabulous, and seeing their relationship grow was amazing! I loved their utterly adorable meet cute and I loved seeing their relationship transition from hate to love...truly, I loved every moment of it!

- Dax and Emme's relationship! I'm a sucker for a good single dad trope, and this one was really interesting! Seeing Dax do everything that he could for Emme was wonderful. He may not have been her actual dad, but seeing him be the best big brother and father figure he could be was soooo good!

- The writing, and the story! I'm a huge Helena Hunting fan, so I loved the writing as I always do with her books, and I also just loved this story! I loved how it had light, romantic, and funny parts, but I also loved that it had some very serious elements and that it brought all of those things together into the same story. While the premise of this story is pretty unlikely, I still thoroughly enjoyed getting to see it all unfold!

What Didn't I Like:

- Honestly, nothing. I absolutely adored this book! I already knew the premise of MEET CUTE, so I went into it expecting it have heavy moments mixed in with all the funny bits so it was exactly what I wanted and hoped for...especially Dax, I loved him so freaking much. *heart eyes*

Star Rating:

★★★★★

Read If You Like:

Stories that mix both light-hearted moments and heavy ones. MEET CUTE is hilarious, but it's also packed full of super emotional moments that might just leave you in tears.

Overall, I absolutely loved MEET CUTE! It balanced sweet, sexy and fun moments with some emotionally heartrending ones. I also loved that it included some teen heartthrob fangirl elements along with a surrogate single dad trope...sooo many things to love!!! Highly recommend!!!

So, I'm clearly a sucker for the hate-to-love trope...and I also have a thing for single dads. I read this with my book club, and they all said that as they were reading it they knew that I was loving it because it was EXACTLY up my alley. haha

What are some of the tropes you find irresistible?
And does MEET CUTE sound like something you'd enjoy?

REVIEW

I've never seen this show...but this GIF is so perfect for this book! haha

Initial Reaction:

Absolutely looooved this one!!! The couple was fabulous! I loved Harley and I loved getting to know the Baileys even better...especially our mystery baby daddy! 😉

This Book In 5 Words:

Surprising. Flirty. Delicious. Tender. Daddylicious.

What Did I Like:

- The characters! One of my favourite things about Piper and Rayne's books will always be their characters! They put you completely in their characters' heads and really bring them to life! Harley and our baby daddy were fabulous!!! They were flawed and had some issues to overcome, but seeing them rise to the task was wonderful! And seeing them together...well that was even better! :D
 - All the daddy moments! Romance has taught me several things about myself, and one of those things is that I am an absolute sucker for moments in books where we get to see our heroes being good dads...and this one did it very, very well! Seeing our mystery baby daddy grow into his role within his new family was soooo wonderful, and he was such a good dad! I can't wait to see more of those dad moments in later books!
- The entire Bailey family! I seriously love this family so much, and with each book I'm getting more and more attached! I can't wait for each and every one of their stories, and I also can't wait to see Grandma Dory continue to meddle in all of their lives. :P

What Didn't I Like:

- I wanted more scenes with our mystery daddy interacting with his siblings. We did get some scenes, but that was the one part of the story that I wanted more of...so really, I just wanted more of this story, which frankly isn't really a bad thing. :P

Star Rating:

★★★★★

Read If You Like:

Stories of redemption, finding love in unexpected places, second chances, and stories where both the hero and heroine have flaws, but they grow together and overcome the things that are holding them back!

To Read Next:

- Meet Cute by Helena Hunting (If you like the whole single guy suddenly becomes thrust into a father/father-like position, then you will LOVE Dax...I know, I sure did! ;D)
- Single Dads Club Series by Piper Rayne (Once again...I'll have to recommend this one! I totally blame it for my love of the single dad trope now! :P)

Overall, I thought that BIRTH OF A BABY DADDY was wonderful! I loved this story! I loved the characters, and I'm absolutely loving this entire series! Wholeheartedly looking forward to the next one! :D
