Stacking the Shelves (12)

Stacking the Shelves is Tynga's Reviews' version of In My Mailbox (from The Story Siren and inspired by Alea at Pop Culture Junkie).

Stacking the Shelves is a way to share the books that you're adding to your physical and virtual bookshelves. It's easy to participate. You just make your own post, and link it to the main post over at Tynga's Reviews. Also, in case you're curious, Tynga's post for it goes up on Saturdays, but you can post it any day that you like. :) You can find out more about participating by reading the Stacking the Shelves Launch post.

Well, this is being posted a little later in the day today because I was at my Aunt and Uncle's for Thanksgiving. :) So, here's what I got this week. :)

For Review:

The Gleaning - Spellspinners of Melas County 2 by Heidi R. Kling (from Coliloquy)
Stealing Parker by Miranda Kenneally (Raincoast Books)
Who I Kissed by Janet Gurtler (Raincoast Books)

I was extremely excited when I was contacted earlier this week about The Gleaning, and I've started it, and think it's absolutely fantastic!!! :D I'm also really excited for Stealing Parker and Who I Kissed! :D

Bought:

Possess by Gretchen McNeil (Indigo)
The Swan Kingdom by Zoe Marriott (Indigo)
Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt (Indigo)
Moonglass by Jessi Kirby (Indigo)
Swear (Swoon #2) by Nina Malkin (Indigo)
Fat Vampire: A Never Coming of Age Story by Adam Rex (The Book Cellar)
Slide (Slide #1) by Jill Hathaway (The Book Cellar)
Illusions (Wings #3) by Aprilynne Pike (The Book Cellar)
Everneath (Everneath #1) by Brodi Ashton (The Book Cellar)
Starkissed by Bryanna Gabrielson (Amazon Kindle Store)
We by Yevgeny Zamyatin (The Book Depository)

I went a little crazy with book sales this week. :P I bought the first five at Indigo before going to see The Perks of Being a Wallflower (which was amazing :D), and I found the next four on campus at the Book Cellar. :D I also got Starkissed for my kindle and devoured it. It was a quick read, and pretty good. I loved the whole storyline. :D We is one that I think I'm going to read for my Scandalous Fictions class, it's a Russian dystopia! :D

I hope that all of my fellow Canadians had a fantastic Thanksgiving Sunday, and that that your Monday is fantastic, too. For any non-Canadians, I hope you still had a fantastic day, even if you didn't get to eat a big turkey dinner. :)

So, what did you get this week?

  1. You picked up some amazing books this week at Indigo. I went in and picked some up and put them back. LOL I have so many books to read at my apartment that I forced myself to no buy anymore yet.

I`m trying to get all of my current review books out of the way in the next month so that I can read a ton of the ones I have for fun or are so overdue for review people probably think I`m never going to get to them. LOL

I forgot to do my StS post this week - so I`ll be doing 3 weeks all together next week. :)

    Enjoy your books!

That's a good plan, Chrystal! I should start doing that myself!

Oooh...looking forward to seeing it! :D

  3. HA! I was just talking to Jenni about Fat Vampire on Monday when we were at Indigo! You'll have to let me know how it is. :) Did you like Swoon? I had that one and won Swear from the publisher, but the first book drove me NUTS! I hated it so much. I just donated mine to the library ...

What is The Book Cellar? You got some awesome books from there! I'm going to have to check it out!

    Thanks for sharing, Ambur!

    1. haha nice! ;D It looks funny, so hopefully it will be and I'll be sure to let you know. :) Swoon was a so/so read for me. I did have major issues with it...but I figured since it was cheap, I might as well see what happens in Swear. Hopefully it'll be better than the first was...ya, I thought about doing the same with my copy! haha

It's a bookstore in HUB mall on the University of Alberta campus. I love it! :D They have cheap books from when there are overstocks and ll that. I've found some amazing deals there. I bought six in total this week for about $13 (two of them I bought for my bestie, so I didn't put them on here ;D). You really should! It's great. :D

You're welcome, and thanks for commenting, Kristilyn! :D

  4. Wow such an exciting haul! I really liked Stealing Parker and Who I Kissed, I hope you do too! I bough Possess recently too and can't wait to get to it. Kristilyn pointed Fat Vampire out to me at the book store the other day and I regret not picking it up, it sounds so fun. I hope you enjoy all the new goodies!
