In My Mailbox (28)

In My Mailbox at The Story Siren

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren, and inspired by her friend, Alea of Pop Culture Junkie. It's a way to share the books that you've received over the past week. They could come from the bookstore, the library, a friend, your mailbox or wherever. It gives us all a chance to showcase the books that we've gotten, and maybe give others an idea for the book they want to read or buy next. :)

For Review:

Life is But a Dream by Brian James (NetGalley)

I managed to limit my Netgalley requests this week, but I couldn't resist this one. It sounds like a great story.

Library:

 Illyria by Elizabeth Hand
 The Game by Monica Hughes
 Exposed by Kimberly Marcus
The Perfect Play (Play by Play #1) by Jaci Burton
Avalon High by Meg Cabot
 Gnomeo and Juliet (DVD)
 Up (DVD)

So, I hit up the library big time this week. I requested a bunch, and here is a big chunk of it...at least what's showed up so far. As you can see, I also borrowed Gnomeo and Juliet, and Up. They both were pretty cute. I loved Russel, Kevin, and Dug on Up. They were great pick me up movies this weekend, since I really needed it. I'm excited to read all of these books, too. Most of them have been on my TBR list for a while.

 Won:

Mistwood (Mistwood #1) by Leah Cypess (Won from the author)
Nightspell (Mistwood #2) by Leah Cypess (Won from the author)
The Secret Year by Jennifer R. Hubbard (Won from Confessions of a Bookaholic)

I was lucky and won Leah Cypess's giveaway back around Christmas/Hanukkah-Time, and they came this week. I'm really excited to start this series, and Leah was awesome and signed them both, and she gave me a signed bookmark for each book, too. So awesome! Thanks, Leah! And, Jessica at Confessions of a Bookaholic had a survey giveaway a while back, and I won the International prize, and got to pick two picks equaling about $15, I picked The Secret Year, and Dreaming Anastasia, which will probably come soon since they usually follow pretty quickly from The Book Depository. Thanks, Jessica!

Bought:

Cloaked by Alex Flinn (Amazon Kindle Store)

So, I've actually already read this book, but I don't have a finished copy, so when it was on sale for Kindle, I couldn't resist. Plus, an excerpt for Bewitching sounded awesome.

So, that was my mailbox? What did you get in yours? Feel free to leave a link to your IMM in the comments and I'll try to stop by.

  1. I love that cover for Cloaked, much more interesting than the UK cover that I've seen.

Enjoy your books, Great Mailbox :)

  5. @Jules: Me too, it's gorgeous. It's the new paperback and Kindle cover here. Beastly is also being rereleased with a similar styled cover, and Bewitching, Alex's new book, has one that goes with the other two as well. Together they look fantastic.

    @Grace: Thanks, Grace.

@Amanda: Thanks, and it is. I really liked it when I read it.

@Aylee: Definitely does! Hopefully I'll get to it soon and care share my thoughts.

Happy Reading everyone and thank you for your comments.
