Books I Can't Wait To Get My Hands On....

So, there have been plenty of gorgeous covers released this week, as well as a few books that I just recently found out about. I've decided to share a few of these books that I can't wait for. :D

Okay Book 1: Bumped by Megan McCafferty

The blurb for this book sounds amazing, and the cover is kinda clever, not the shiniest one ever, but it's kind of refreshing to see a simple YA cover. :)

Book 2: Wolfsbane by Andrea Cremer

This cover is GORGEOUS!! I love me some green, I mean Nightshade's cover was gorgeous too, but this was is va-va-va-VOOM! :)

The Wolfsbane blurb on Goodreads is pretty small, since it's still a ways away from coming out, but so far it's:

Betrayal, loss, pain, fear. How many trials can love endure and still survive?

Well Book 3, is 3 books actually. The cover that was released was for Illusions by Aprilynne Pike

I haven't actually read any of the books from this series yet, I've wanted too, but I still haven't gotten around to it. Wings and Spells are also getting touched up a bit to match the cover for Illusions. They're all so pretty...I love them :)

And finally Book 4: Sweetly by Jackson Pearce.

This one's been around the blogosphere for a little while now, not too long though. I really just had to share it though. It's such an awesome cover. :D

I just love how the branches look like a face, of the witch I'm guessing...and then the trees lead up to the house in the forest. We can't tell if it's a gingerbread house though, but it could be :P lol

This story sounds amazing! I really enjoyed reading Sisters Red, so I can't wait to read Sweetly. Sisters Red was a modernization of Little Red Riding Hood, while Sweetly is a modernization of Hansel and Gretal.

All of these books just look and sound so amazing, so of course I wanted to share. :)

Also some of these covers might change, maybe a little, maybe a whole bunch, by the time these books go into printing, so don't be shocked if they end up a bit (or a lot) different. :)

Yesterday was the release day for Nightshade, and since I already had plans to go out with my best friend it worked out perfectly. We planned to go to supper, Chapters, and then finally to see Easy A in theatres.

Supper was awesome, but ran a little late, so we decided to go to a later movie and spend even more time in Chapters, which was probably a good thing because we had a coupon for 20% off our purchases, not including the 10% off from the iRewards card, so boy did we spend.

We wandered through the store and wound up in the Young Adult's section, and I searched and searched for Nightshade. Somehow I kept missing it, so I printed off the information from the little kiosks on where it was in the store....and it was right beside where I was standing.

Right in front of me the whole time. :P

But I found it, so I'll deal with a little bit of embarrassment from momentarily forgetting my alphabet.

 I blame Chapters, it always gets me giddy on books. There's a reason my parents only take me there so often afterall....I spend lots, I get SUPER excited, and I end up making friends with the sales staff, which for some reason my mom finds kind of weird.

Anyways, here's a photo of me with my lovely prize from my hunting expedition...next time I'm brining a map.

Just a quick question before I go...have you picked up your copy of Nightshade yet????

Oh and in case you were wondering, Easy A was awesome, probably the funniest movie I've seen all year. I defintiely recommend going to see it if you haven't already. It's actually a pretty clever movie, which is really rare nowadays. :)

Halloween Read-A-Thon Results!!!!

Ok, so I started strong with the Read-a-thon, finishing The Body Finder before I started my new picks for the weekend, then I had class so that put a damper on my reading.

Even with class, I managed to start and finish I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore on Friday.

I LOVED this book. I'm not sure yet, but I'll probably end up writing a review for it. I'll still tell you a little bit about it. This book was full of action, suspense, some mystery, and even some love, which to be honest, I definitely was not expecting. I've been wanting to read this book for a while now, and I'm so glad that I did, especially since I want to see the movie when it goes into theatres in February. :)

Late Friday night, or should I say very early Saturday morning I started Sisters Red by Jackson Pearce. I finished it later in the day.

I came across this story over the summer when I was in BC. I was chatting books with the one girl that worked at Chapters because Linger had just come out, and she recommended this book to me. I thought why not, let's give it a try. I'm not sure what I was expecting. I knew it was a twist on the story of Little Red Riding Hood, and that they hunted wolves, but that was about all I knew. So I decided the Read-a-thon would be a perfect time to read it. I liked this book, it was unique and definitely an interesting read. It's told in the alternating perspectives of two sisters, and personally, I wasn't as interested during Scarlett's chapters, but I still really liked it. Overall it was an awesome book. :)

After finishing Sisters Red on Saturday, I quickly started Paranormalcy. I only took one break, and that was to finish watching My Fair Lady with my mom. :) I finished it late late Saturday night or very early Sunday morning...as you can see, sleep was very slim this weekend. :P

I LOVED Paranormalcy! This is probably one of the most unique paranormal stories I've ever read. It was fresh, while still having familiar races of paranormals within the story, and because Evie didn't know her own origin, we the readers, got to go with her on the ride of self discovery. I totally loved Lend too! :) Amazing story, this one is definitely a must read!

I didn't finish this one, but I did start it, and I'm about halfway through it right now. I started it on Sunday, and I should be finished pretty soon. I had a quiz this morning, and a family dinner last night at my Aunt and Uncle's house, so there wasn't too much spare time for reading unfortunately. I'm loving this book so far though, it's definitely one that you don't want to put down unless forced.

My FIRELIGHT review:

I loved this book! It was amazing, and waiting for it to come in from the Book Depository was pure torture. I was so excited to read this book, and it didn't disappoint at all!

The characters were fresh, vivid, and realistic. I wanted to know them. They each had their own personalities, and interesting backgrounds. Jacinda was an amazing protagonist, and her spirit was so fierce. I loved reading about her.

I loved reading about Draki's especially. Draki are descendants of dragons, and Jacinda's one of them. I don't want to give away too much about this book, but I'll share some stuff. There are different kinds of draki, each with specific abilities. You learn about some of these abilities in Firelight, and you even get to see them in action.

I've always been a bit of a dragon fan, and Sophie's interpretation of the newer descendants of dragons was fresh, and incredibly unique. She did a fantastic job weaving together their history, and the way that they've managed to survive and hide for all these years. It made me feel as if maybe draki really do exist somewhere out there. I'm not going to delude myself and look for dragons or anything like that, but I loved how she managed to weave the draki seamlessly into our everyday world.

This story was amazing, and wonderfully done. I fully recommend it and hope that everyone else enjoys it just as much as I did. The next book is called Vanish, and I for one am waiting on batted breath for it to come out! :)
