Rook Walsh is TRAGIC

Because life so far – just sucks. Some girls get parents. Rook got the foster care system. Some girls get Prince Charming. Rook got an abusive frog. Some girls get lucky…

Rook got a second chance.

And she took it. Because when fate throws you a bone – you grab it with both hands and run.

Antoine Chaput knows the minute he spies Rook in his photography studio that she’s got The Look. The dark and desperate look he must have to land the exclusive TRAGIC media contract.

As soon as I first saw Tragic's cover and read the blurb, I knew that I just HAD to read it, and I'm so glad that I did! I absolutely loved it! :D

Tragic alternated POVs between Rook and Ronin, and I really enjoyed that aspect of the story. I loved getting to see things from both of their eyes, and that I got to know how both of them were feeling about each other. ;) haha

While Tragic wasn't a light and fluffy story, I really enjoyed the parts that had me giggling and grinning like a fool, but I also enjoyed getting to see the dark history behind both Rook's and Ronin's pasts. I thought that J.A. Huss did an amazing job with keeping both of their pasts mysterious at first, and I loved the way that she allowed their pasts to be revealed mostly through revelations to each other. I wasn't super happy with Ronin or Rook all of the time, but I understood why they both did the things they did---they have issues that as a reader you're aware of, and I enjoyed seeing them work through them, and look forward to having them move past them even more...and I hope they do that together. :)

Overall, I thought that Tragic was a wonderful story! It was addictive, fast-paced, and almost impossible for me to put down! I was completely hooked on Rook and Ronin's story and absolutely CANNOT wait to read Tragic's sequel, Manic! I would recommend Tragic to anyone who loves a contemporary romance between two characters that have dark pasts, and I think if you like steamy chemistry, you'll like this one, too. ;)

What do you think?
Does Tragic sound like your type of story?
And if you've read it already, what did you think?
