It's Monday, What Are You Reading? (98)

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? at One Person's Journey Through a World of Books

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, is a bookish meme hosted by One Person's Journey Through a World of Books, where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It’s a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list. So hop on over to Journey and join in...and leave a comment here so I can check out what you are reading.

Books I Read Last Week:
I loved this novella, and now I'm even more anxious for Caged because I NEED to know what happens next! haha I also just have to say that I was super thrilled with what happened in this novella...so freaking psyched! In a couple of days I'll post my review for you to see my gushing, and I've got some blog tour stuff for you...like the awesome giveaway that's going on! :D
This was the last book we read for my American Lit class and it was kind of strange, but interesting. It definitely isn't my favourite book ever, but I did enjoy how different it was. I kind of like reading outside of my element...this book was definitely out there though. According to my prof, the movie wasn't very good, but it did follow the book for the most part. He also called Robert Pattinson the young version of Keanu Reeves...and I must admit, Keanu is one of two actors I actively avoid because I don't like him (the other in case you were wondering is Nicholas Cage)...and I don't think Robert Pattinson is that bad...but apparently lots of people think he is. Anyway...I'm ending this tangent now because it's getting pretty random. :P haha

I'm not sure if it was because I was talking about Twilight with my friends in my American Lit class, or because my fellow Edmonton Book Blogger, Kristilyn at Reading in Winter, reread Twilight recently...but I had an intense urge to reread it myself, so I did. And I still loved it. I do agree that compared to newer YA, the dialogue isn't as smooth and the characters aren't as well defined or developed, but I still completely got swept up in the story and read it pretty much straight-through. I also realized how much I preferred the book to the movie...and I really think Bella does have a personality in the books, like I said it's not as well-defined as the main characters we're used to, but it was totally there...movie-Bella, on the other hand, totally doesn't have that personality. I didn't even remember that Bella was sarcastic. :P Anyway, I actually enjoyed rereading it, and hopefully I'll get the chance to reread the other three in the saga soon. :)

Reading Now:
I'm just at the beginning of this one, and haven't gotten very far at all yet, but hopefully I can finish it once I turn in my last big paper for the semester. :)

Books I Want to Read This Week:
I got this one from the library a little while ago and can't wait to read it! :)

    1. haha ya I was kinda scared to reread it after your reread didn't go so well! haha I enjoyed it. It definitely isn't the most amazing book out there, but I still liked the story. And I did find that a lot of the awkwardness in the speech happened between Bella and Charlie...so maybe some was intentional. Plus, Bella is kind of awkward and always getting dazzled. haha

I'm really looking forward to it! :D
