Glitch (Glitch #1)
by Heather Anastasiu
In the Community, there is no more pain or war. Implanted computer chips have wiped humanity clean of destructive emotions, and thoughts are replaced by a feed from the Link network. When Zoe starts to malfunction (or "glitch"), she suddenly begins having her own thoughts, feelings, and identity. Any anomalies must be immediately reported and repaired, but Zoe has a secret so dark it will mean certain deactivation if she is caught: her glitches have given her uncontrollable telekinetic powers. As Zoe struggles to control her abilities and stay hidden, she meets other glitchers including Max, who can disguise his appearance, and Adrien, who has visions of the future. Together, this growing band of glitchers must find a way to free themselves from the controlling hands of the Community before they’re caught and deactivated, or worse. In this action-packed debut, Glitch begins an exciting new young adult trilogy.

Though Leah has crushed on Grayson for years, she’s leery of getting involved in what now seems like a doomed business — until Grayson betrays her by digging up her most damning secret. Flesh and Bone (Benny Imura #3)
by Jonathan Maberry
Reeling from the tragic events of Dust and Decay, Benny Imura and his friends plunge deep into the zombie-infested wastelands of the great Rot and Ruin. Benny, Nix, Lilah and Chong journey through a fierce wilderness that was once America, searching for the jet they saw in the skies months ago. If that jet exists then humanity itself must have survived…somewhere. Finding it is their best hope for having a future and a life worth living.
But the Ruin is far more dangerous than any of them can imagine. They are hunted by fierce animals escaped from zoos and circuses. They must raid zombie-infested towns for food and medical supplies. They discover the very real truth in the old saying: In the Rot and Ruin…everything wants to kill you.
And what is happening to the zombies? Swarms of them are coming from the east, devouring everything in their paths. These zoms are different. Faster, smarter, infinitely more dangerous. Has the zombie plague mutated, or is there something far more sinister behind this new invasion of the living dead?
In Flesh and Bone, Benny Imura, Nix Riley, Lou Chong and Lilah the Lost Girl are pitted against dangers greater than anything they've ever faced. To survive, each of them must rise to become the warriors Tom trained them to be.

Alice in Zombieland
(White Rabbit Chronicles #1)
by Gena Showalter
She won’t rest until she’s sent every walking corpse back to its grave. Forever.
Had anyone told Alice Bell that her entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed. From blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined? Please. But that’s all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone.
Her father was right. The monsters are real….
To avenge her family, Ali must learn to fight the undead. To survive, she must learn to trust the baddest of the bad boys, Cole Holland. But Cole has secrets of his own, and if Ali isn’t careful, those secrets might just prove to be more dangerous than the zombies….
I wish I could go back and do a thousand things differently.
I'd tell my sister no.
I'd never beg my mother to talk to my dad.
I'd zip my lips and swallow those hateful words.
Or, barring all of that, I'd hug my sister, my mom and my dad one last time.
I'd tell them I love them.
I wish... Yeah, I wish.

It’s not until Travis runs into Harper, a girl he’s had a rocky relationship with since middle school, that life actually starts looking up. And as he and Harper see more of each other, he begins to pick his way through the minefield of family problems and post-traumatic stress to the possibility of a life that might resemble normal again. For Darkness Shows the Stars
by Diana Peterfreund
Generations ago, a genetic experiment gone wrong—the Reduction—decimated humanity, giving rise to a Luddite nobility who outlawed most technology.
Elliot North has always known her place in this world. Four years ago Elliot refused to run away with her childhood sweetheart, the servant Kai, choosing duty to her family’s estate over love. Since then the world has changed: a new class of Post-Reductionists is jumpstarting the wheel of progress, and Elliot’s estate is foundering, forcing her to rent land to the mysterious Cloud Fleet, a group of shipbuilders that includes renowned explorer Captain Malakai Wentforth—an almost unrecognizable Kai. And while Elliot wonders if this could be their second chance, Kai seems determined to show Elliot exactly what she gave up when she let him go.
But Elliot soon discovers her old friend carries a secret—one that could change their society . . . or bring it to its knees. And again, she’s faced with a choice: cling to what she’s been raised to believe, or cast her lot with the only boy she’s ever loved, even if she’s lost him forever.
Inspired by Jane Austen’s persuasion, For Darkness Shows the Stars is a breathtaking romance about opening your mind to the future and your heart to the one person you know can break it.

I'm sure it's no surprise that I love this cover, it is absolutely breathtaking! I also love the idea of this story. Inspired by Persuasion...and a dystopia...seriously, count me in! :D I haven't read any of Diana Peterfreund's books yet, but I've been wanting to. :D

So, those are a few of the books that are coming out in the next few months that I can't wait for! What about you, are these ones that you want to read, too?
Are there any others that you can't wait for?
Now I really want to do a post like this, especially since I stopped doing waiting on Wednesday! Such a great list of books, I hadn't heard of a few but I have Glitch on NG and I pre-ordered Something like Normal (it looks THAT good). Alice in Zombieland just has me curious because it's so strange! Series are always exciting, and I haven't read any Kody Kepplinger yet but I do have her first 2 books so I have no excuse. Maybe this summer!
ReplyDeleteThe last book sounds great but I hate reading books that are inspired by other books when I haven't read the original (ever since I read The Hours by Michael Cunningham before Mrs Dalloway!) I'll be curious if you review it, love it enough and I may have to pick up both Austen and this one :)
Ya, I've never done WOW, so I try and do one of these every once in a while. Especially since there are so many awesome books coming out soon. :) It does look THAT good! :D I know, it sounds like it'll be an interesting read at the very least. :D Oh, you so need to read those! She's amazing! :D Good plan!
DeletePersuasion isn't my favourite Austen to be honest. It isn't bad, but it's definitely not the one that I liked the most. I'm a Pride & Prejudice fan. I also really liked Emma. I'm gonna have to go back and reread them all one of these days. haha Yeah, reading the one inspired by before the original sometimes messes it up. :P haha okay :)
