It's Monday, What Are You Reading? (53)

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? at One Person's Journey Through a World of Books

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, is a bookish meme hosted by One Person's Journey Through a World of Books, where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It’s a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list. So hop on over to Journey and join in...and leave a comment here so I can check out what you are reading.

Books I Read Last Week:

:D The final book in the Inheritance Cycle came out Tuesday, and I picked up my copy that day...and my friend and I are going to Christopher Paolini's Edmonton signing in December...I seriously can't wait! I've never had the chance to go to an author signing before this! I did meet Will and Boogie from Big Brother once though...and that was awesome! haha Anyway, I loved Inheritance! It wasn't quite what I expected, and left a lot open for a book that's over 800-pages long, but I still thought it was fantastic! I do kinda wish for more Murtagh though...just saying. ;)

I also finished Exiled this week. :) I liked it, but I did expect to like it more than I did. There was just too much confusion in this one (romance-wise for the most part), but I did really enjoy the whole alien aspect, that stuff was awesome. :D I'll be reviewing this one soon, so I'll save most of my thoughts for then. :)

Reading Now:

Okay...I'm a bad student. I chose to read Inheritance over my long weekend instead of my school books. *hangs head in shame* I'm going to actually try and finish Three Day Road this week...and I seriously mean it this time! :P

We're reading this in my Restorations class...I also need to get my butt in gear for this one. I did start it though, and that's progess.

Books I Want to Read This Week:

I didn't read this one yet, but I will have a promo post on it later this week, and hopefully I'll finish it soon and I can post my review for it, too. :)

Another one that I got from the library, and I'm kind of missing summer right now (first snow fall in Edmonton the other day----latest one in the record books, crazy huh :P), so this one's perfect...of course, I'm going off the name, so contents-wise it might not be. :P haha

And what are you reading???

Check out One Person's Journey Through a World of Books to see what other people are reading. :)

Happy Reading!!!

  1. I hope you have a chance to finish all your school books this week after your detour for Inheritance! You're reading a lot of Sarah Dessen lately I'm interested to see if you have a favourite. I enjoyed the two books I've read by her but they were similar enough that I think I need to space her books out so that they don't feel repetitive if that makes sense, reading them nearly a year apart just made me appreciate them more in this case. But anyway I FINISHED HALLOWED TODAY and you totally have to read it as well so we can discuss! GAH.

That is also. Also I owe you like a billion e-mails and I miss our conversations but well, I/life sucks and is currently way too busy. I think I am giving up on NaNoWrimo so there is just that much less stress, and also I am totally failing anyway! Sigh.

    Happy reading Ambur!

  2. haha I know, it was a major detour, that book was huge...but so worth it! :P I'll get to Robinson Crusoe and Three Day Road eventually...I hope lol I'm planning on trying to finish one today and then the other tomorrow, or at least making a dent in them. :P lol I sure have! I've been getting 'em from the library. Hmmm, I'm not sure if I have a favourite, I htink if I had to choose my fav out of the one's I've read I'd say The Truth About Forever, I really liked that one. :) Or Along For the Ride, that was the first one I read. :D They are kind of similar, but they're different, too. :) I haven't had too many problems separately the stories. :D Yay! I'm glad you finished, and I will read it as soon as I can...hopefully this weekend or next week...I have to at least outline a couple papers this week, so if I do that, then I will reward myself with Hallowed! :D hehe

I've missed our conversations, too. :( I totally get it though, it's a busy time for me school-wise, too, so I imagine yours is even crazier. :P Awe, well there's always next year...or the year after that...or the year after that, etc. lol At least you gave it a shot. ;) lol

Happy Reading to you, too! :D

  3. Well I only teach two more weeks of labs so after that is done I think it will be less stressful since those eat up a lot of my Mondays and Tuesdays. and I fully support rewarding yourself with Hallowed! Good luck finishing up those books and outlining, that does sound stressful. I have the most massive to do list ever but I'm trying to knock it out one thing at a time... I've heard that a lot of people love The Truth About Forever, it was the first Dessen book I'd ever heard of. I'll definitely have to pick it up. Is there any reason you haven't tried What Happened to Goodbye? I think there was an ARC of that in the box of books I pawned off on you ;)

  4. That's good :) I bet, labs are pretty consuming, especially since you have to get everything all together, and it isn't like a chem lab where the students gather their own stuff together, you have to set it out, at least that's how the bio lab I did went. Yay, I'm glad I have your support. :) Thanks, I'm hoping I can get it done. If not, two of them aren't due for a couple more weeks, so I at least have some time in between. I'm trying to get ahead though to avoid the whole procrastination-added-stress element. That's the best way, one thing at a time. :) Ya, that one's really good, and I loved Wes. :) No reason, I just have been trying to get thru the library books first so I could take them back...I have What Happened to Goodbye permanently...at least until it disintegrates...but that'll take an awful long time, and I better have read it by then. :P haha
