What I'm Listening To: PARACHUTE!!

I'm trying to keep you all guessing about what I'm going to choose for my music each week! First, I went with musical scores, then I went with five songs that I'm obsessed with, and today I'm going to tell you about one of my absolute favourite bands, PARACHUTE! :D

I'm a huge fan of Parachute! I think that their songs are beautiful, and I absolutely LOVE the lead singer's voice...I'll admit, if I like a lead singer's voice, I will pretty much adore every single song I hear. The fantastic thing about Parachute is that their lyrics actually tell stories, which is much rarer today than it used to be. 

One of my favourite songs of Parachute's is "Forever and Always"...it actually makes me cry. They don't have a music video for this song, but there are plenty of fanmade videos. I've included one with lyrics below:

I seriously love all of their songs, but "The Mess I Made" was one of the first songs of theirs that I heard, so I love it especially just for that. Plus, Jennifer Lawrence is totally in their official music video, so I just have to share it!

Their newest album is called Overnight! It came out in July...and it is AMAZING! :D

What I'm Listening To: Top 5 Songs Dominating My Music Obsession RIGHT NOW!

I actually have a few bigger playlists that I tend to cycle through most of the time, but I'm constantly adding new songs to them. Here are 5 songs that I'm loving right now! :D

"Scotland" by The Lumineers

I got hooked on the TV show Reign (I'm really not loving the storyline right now, but I'm hoping it'll get back to something I like soon!), and every single time I hear this song I just love it more and more!

"Let Her Go" by Passenger

My friend just told me today that this song is super overplayed....but I still love it anyway, especially since I saw a fantastic edit on Instagram about Ten and Rose using these lyrics...and it was PERFECT! Note: if you did not understand the Ten and Rose reference, you really need to start watching Doctor Who...and hopefully you'll love it as much as I do! ;D

"Pompeii" by Bastille

Awwww....I seriously just love this song to pieces!!! So beautiful! This is one of those songs just seriously make me feel so freaking much...and I'm totally in love with Bastille now, too...just in case you were wondering. ;P

"Hand on Heart" by Olly Murs

I just heard this song recently, and now I'm totally obsessed! :D Listen! Listen! Maybe you'll get hooked on it, too!!!! :D

"Let it Go" from FROZEN performed by Idina Menzel

I'm totally a Disney fangirl, and absolutely LOVED Frozen....seriously, so freaking much, and this song! Oh, this song! I just love it so much! I love the entire soundtrack actually, but "Let It Go" is definitely my favourite...I'm also a total sucker for "Do You Want to Build a Snowman"...oh, the feels!

haha I totally had to listen to ALL of these songs while writing this post...and I love them all so much! I actually didn't have them in a single playlist all together before this....but now, I feel the beginning of a beautiful new playlist starting. ;)

What I'm Listening To: Score Galore!!!

I've done a few music related posts in the past...one that I actually titled "What I'm Listening To", too, but I'm hoping to talk about music a bit more regularly. Maybe not every single week, but at least every other week. :)

This week, I'm going to focus on musical scores! I definitely listen to a little bit of everything when it comes to music, but I must admit that over the last couple of years I have totally become obsessed with musical scores! So, I'm calling this post:

SCORE GALORE!!!

I love to listen to scores when I'm writing papers or doing something that I want to concentrate on. They help me get into the zone and stay focused! But, I also love to listen to them when I'm having trouble falling asleep because I find that lyrics can sometimes keep me awake, while instrumentals tend to lull me to sleep...at least they do if they aren't loud ones. :P They're also great for those times when you get a horrible migraine, which I unfortunately do every once in a while.

I have a few favourite scores, but my ABSOLUTE favourite is definitely the score for 2003 version of Peter Pan starring Jeremy Sumpter. The score was composed by James Newton Howard, and it is DIVINE! I listen to it all the time, and I just love it so freaking much! I'm pretty much a James Newton Howard fangirl now to be honest...I love all of his scores. Just so you know, he also did the scores for The Hunger Games, and Catching Fire! ;D

I also love The Hobbit and Lord of the Ring movie scores...and the ones for Game of Thrones, too! I couldn't really tell you what makes me like or dislike a score, but I definitely like the whimsical, or fantastical ones the most. I love that the Hobbit and LoTR ones always have a Celtic vibe, and I love that I cannot help but think of fairies when I listen to the Peter Pan score, plus, I absolutely ADORE that movie! And for GoT, well I just love the music...probably because I'm obsessed with the show, and who doesn't love that main theme *starts humming the GoT theme here*. :P

What I'm Listening To...Simple Plan #Music

I don't talk about it very often on the blog, but I absolutely LOVE music. I listen to it while I'm doing pretty much everything...even when I'm sleeping sometimes. :P So, I thought I'd start doing these little posts to let you all know what I'm listening to, or the things I like to listen to. I've got an eclectic taste, so don't be surprised if the genres vary a lot. 

This isn't really a meme, just a post I'm going to do every once in a while, I haven't decided if I'll do it every week, but we'll see. 

I'm gonna start off with a band I've loved for years...Simple Plan!

I first heard Simple Plan in junior high, and their first CD, No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls, was the first CD I ever bought. I listened to it over and over, and you know what...I will never forget those songs. They're seriously stuck in my brain now. :P And guess what? I still listen to their songs on repeat. In fact, my best friend and I just went to their concert in Edmonton last month (on Valentine's Day actually ;D), and ever since then I've been constantly listening to my Simple Plan playlist on my ipod! :D

I love so many of their songs that it's going to be hard to pick favourites, but here are a few I love!
