I'm Ambur, and I'm addicted to books, tea, superheroes, and TV! I'm extremely passionate about my fandoms—right now I'm currently obsessed with Game of Thrones, Outlander, Nightwing/Dick Grayson, Captain America, and I believe that kindness always goes a long way to making everyone's day a little better. When it comes to books, I'm a sucker for young adult books, and romance novels, especially of the sports or historical variety!
Today is the day! Long Night Moon, the third book in the Seasons of the Moon series, releases today! :D I've been anxiously awaiting this one ever since I finished All Hallows' Moon, and today it's finally out! You can get yourself a copy from:
Who else is super excited for Long Night Moon? And who's just starting the series and is gonna take the opportunity to snag copies of SMS and AHM today? :D
Oh man...I have been waiting anxiously to see this cover, and it's finally here! Yay! :D
Long Night Moon, the third book in the Seasons of the Moon Series releases in a few short months on March 2nd, and today I finally get to reveal the cover of it to you all! :D
*****Note, if you haven't started this series yet, you might want to skip the blurb!*****
And here's the book's blurb:
Something is killing innocent people around Rylie Gresham's town. The police think it's a wild animal, but she has other suspicions. There are new kids at school, and they have a lot in common with her: gold eyes, super strength, and a habit of turning furry. It seems Rylie's not the only werewolf around anymore.
It's up to Rylie and her werewolf-hunting boyfriend, Seth, to stop the killings. But saving lives doesn't come naturally to a monster, and territory battles could risk the life of her sickly aunt--not to mention her own. Rylie has no choice but to stand her ground, protect her home, and stop the murderers before anyone else gets hurt.
Just in case you haven't seen the new covers for Six Moon Summer and All Hallows' Moon yet, here they are:
I'm a big fan of the new covers. :) I loved the old ones, too, but these new ones are so clean and I love the constancy between the covers. With SM's name at the bottom and the cool outline. :) Also I love way the seasons and the settings are represented in the covers...and the wolf and the girl are so fitting. I especially love that the girl is blonde, that was the one thing that confused me when I read SMS, I remember seeing the cover and thinking that Rylie would be a brunette because of the girl on the cover, but she was blonde in the book, so her being blonde on the covers now makes it a lot more clear. :)
And about Long Night Moon's cover...I love it so much! :D It's gorgeous! I love the winter background, the full moon, the girl on the cover (i.e. Rylie), and the fact that there are multiple wolves on this one hints at the fact that Rylie doesn't seem to be the only wolf in this one. :P
What about you, what do you think?
Do you prefer the old covers, the new ones, or are you like me, and you like them both?
Anyone else anxiously awaiting Long Night Moon's release? ....I know I sure am!
Rylie survived becoming a werewolf at great cost. She moves to her aunt’s ranch in the hopes she can enroll in a new high school and quietly continue her life... with a few distinct changes. She transforms into a beast every new and full moon and struggles to control her murderous urges.
Without many werewolves left, it’s hard to stay in hiding. A family of hunters -- Eleanor, Abel, and Seth -- recognize the signs and follow Rylie to her new home. They want to stop her before she murders someone, and the only way to do it is with a silver bullet. Seth soon realizes the werewolf is Rylie, the one monster he failed to kill. Worse yet, he’s still in love with her.
Torn between family and love, Rylie struggles to reconcile her feelings and control the wolf within while Seth fights to do what’s right. But what is right-- obeying desire or duty?
I reviewed the first book in this series, Six Moon Summer, a while ago, and I loved it! I was thrilled to hear that there was going to be another book, and since then I've also learned that there are going to be even more books...two, I believe! :D
By my enthusiasm for the next two books you can probably already tell that I liked All Hallows' Moon...actually, I loved it! I thought that it was a fantastic sequel! S.M. Reine did a fabulous job with it! I loved that she didn't reiterate what happened in the first book constantly...honestly, too many series do this. I hate when I read a series and every new book spends at least a third of it telling me what happened in the other books...it makes me feel like the author thinks I'm stupid. Obviously, she did mention some stuff that happened, so that if someone were to pick up All Hallows' Moon without reading Six Moon Summer, they wouldn't be totally lost, but she didn't make it so packed full of reiteration that they would be spoiled for the first book...well maybe a little because they wouldn't have any suspense at the end of the first one if they already knew what would happen...but, I'm getting off topic. What I'm trying to say is that All Hallows' Moon works as a standalone. It's fantastic as a sequel, but I think if you wanted to go straight to this one, you could too....but, I do think you'd enjoy it more if you read Six Moon Summer first. :P
I loved seeing the next stage in Rylie's journey, and experiencing her struggles to come to terms with all of the things that have changed in her life. She's going through a lot...and I'm not just talking about the whole werewolf thing, she went through so many things in Six Moon Summer, and in All Hallows' Eve, and I can't help but admire her strength. She doesn't give up...even when it seems like all is lost and she just keeps getting beaten down. She's one tough girl! :D
Since the description mentions Seth, I don't think I'm spoiling anything by saying that he's in this one, and I'm sure if you already read Six Moon Summer, you did expect him to return. I know I did! And if you haven't read Six Moon Summer, then you don't know who I'm talking about, but let me just say this...I love Seth...I seriously do. He's freaking fantastic! He's tough and mysterious, and in All Hallows' Moon, we finally get to see more about his past...and his family. We see him interact with his mom and his brother, and of course, once again, we see him with Rylie. He isn't as much of a mystery by the end of this one, but he's still awesome. As much as I love seeing Rylie grow in All Hallows' Moon, I love seeing Seth grow too. They both go through so much, together and apart, and I love that the point of views alternate and allow you to see that.
I expected to like All Hallows' Moon, and I did, as I've said, I loved it! This series, and author, is one of the reasons that I enjoy reading self-published books. Trust me, there are some AMAZING self-published books! I'm sorry if you feel like I'm pushing them right now, but I feel like often their work isn't given a chance, so right now I'm trying to open your eyes a bit to a fine example of what can come from self-publishing. I hope that many of you take my advice, and give this series a chance, it is amazing. Please don't let prejudices or negative connotations towards self-published works influence you here. If you like paranormal stories, or want to give them a shot, go for it! This one is fantastic, it's unique, it has fabulous characters, and I can't forget to mention that right now the first book, Six Moon Summer, is only $0.99 on Amazon...so if you want it, go for it now. After all, who doesn't love a deal. ;) haha
If you want to read this series, you can purchase the books online, here:

Now, in honour of All Hallows' Moon's release, S.M. Reine is having a blog tour, and as part of that tour, I have Seth, the mysterious and sexy boy I mentioned back when I reviewed Six Moon Summer, here on my blog today! He's been gracious enough to answer a few questions, and I hope you enjoy them. :)
You've mentioned before that family is really important to you. Do you want to tell us a little bit about them?
I have a brother named Abel and my mom. Abel and I are really tight, you know? You have to be with your brother. I would do anything for him. He was attacked last year and he's never really gotten over it. His face is still horrible, but he's always been kind of ugly, so I don't think it's that big a difference. But don't tell him I said that! My mom, though, she's been really intense since dad got killed awhile back. She's kind of... career driven.
"Career driven?"So what's her career?
The family business. What we've always done. She kills werewolves.
How do you kill a werewolf?
It's just like killing anyone else, I guess, even though I've never killed a normal person or anything. The only problem is that they heal stupidly fast and they're big, quick, and mean. You almost have to pull the trigger before you even see them, or that's it. You're dead. You can slow them down if you can poison them with wolfsbane, and you can stop them cold if you get a little silver in their blood, but otherwise it's just like hunting any big animal. Except they're human twenty-nine nights of the month.
How many have you killed before?
Just on my own? Only two. But since I started going on hunts as a kid with my brother, we've killed over a dozen. I think we've got the best hunt-to-kill ratio in the country, but it's not like us hunters have a scoreboard.
Does it bother you hunting a werewolf when they're usually human?
Mom says they don't have souls after they get bitten. She says the spirit of the wolf eats the spirit of the man and leaves nothing but emptiness inside. Even if they look like people, even if they walk and talk like people, they're not people. That's why we have to wait until they change on a moon to shoot them, though. We have to be totally sure they're the one. Dad used to say, "If it's not furry, don't kill. If it is furry, skin it." He was pretty career-driven too.
I guess I used to be okay with the whole hunting thing. I believed my parents. They're the experts, right? But ever since this summer, it's been different. I went on my first real solo hunt, and... things changed.
Are you talking about the incident at Camp Golden Lake?
Yeah. Two werewolves, lots of victims. And then there was the third werewolf-- Rylie. She got bitten when I was on a hunt. I tried to save her, but I failed, and then I tried to keep her from turning at the end of the summer, and I failed again. I feel pretty bad about that.
What happened to Rylie?
I don't know. She changed on that last night to save me from the big bad wolf, and I didn't see her again after that. She looked pretty bad, though.
Do you think she's alive?
God, I hope so.
Thanks for visiting my blog today, Seth. Happy hunting!
Yeah, thanks for having me. See you around.

There are nineteen provinces in the Land held aloft by nineteen pillars. Above the earth there is sky, and nobody knows what goes below except the Nineteen Dragons.
That is all you need to know, but that is not all there is to be known.
The Device has been stolen and the godlike Dragons have been rendered mortal. Someone is murdering them one by one, and each death brings the world closer to its end. Unless the Device is somehow restored to its deceased owner, the Dragons are doomed to destruction-- and the human world will go with them.
Before reading The 19 Dragons, I read another of S.M. Reine's books, Six Moon Summer, and I loved that one. I wasn't surprised when I read and loved The 19 Dragons, too.
I was surprised by how different the two books were, though. The author's voice, and the tone of the books were completely different, and I thought that was fabulous. It just shows how much versatility S.M. Reine has that she can write two completely different books and excel at both of them.
The 19 Dragons isn't a long story, and it isn't one that gives you a tonne of information about the characters. If ever there was a story where you learned only what you needed to know about characters, this was it, and because of that, it's a bit mysterious. It's also full of destruction, and has characters that make you beyond curious to know more. Each chapter you learn a brief amount about each of the characters, and if you haven't already guessed, the characters are the 19 dragons. As the world crumbles around the characters, you are slowly learning about them, and you can only guess at what the intentions of each character are.
I loved the mystery in this book, and how the descriptions were brief, yet incredibly vivid. It was completely enthralledme, and I highly recommend The 19 Dragons. It's the perfect quick read, and I think fans of Steampunk will thoroughly enjoy it. :)
Have you read any of S.M Reine's stories yet?
Does The 19 Dragons sound like something you'd like to read?
And if you've already read it, what did you think?

This is the sequel to Six Moon Summer, which I reviewed a few months ago.
If you want to know more about Six Moon Summer, here's the link to itsGoodreads Page.
I personally can't wait to read All Hallows Moon! Six Moon Summer was fantastic, and I can't wait to read about what happens next! I also just want to mention for anyone else anxiously awaiting this sequel, the release date has changed! Before it was going to be released in October, but now it will be released September 9, 2011...which isn't far from now at all! :D
Are you excited for All Hallows Moon?
Have you read Six Moon Summer?
And finally, what do you think of All Hallows Moon's cover?
Personally, I love it! I especially love that the girl on the cover is blond on this one, it tripped me out when Rylie was blonde in the book after seeing her as brunette on Six Moon Summer's cover. ;)
Unless the the Device is somehow restored to its deceased owner, the Dragons are doomed to destruction-- and the human world will go with them.
And now she has three months to find a cure before becoming a werewolf... forever.
Rylie Gresham hates everything about summer camp: the food, the fresh air, the dumb activities, and the other girls in her cabin. But the worst part is probably being bitten by a werewolf. Being a teenager is hard enough, but now she's craving raw flesh and struggles with uncontrollable anger. If she doesn't figure out a way to stop the transformation, then at the end of summer, her life is worse than over. She'll be a monster.
I loved Six Moon Summer! Now, I know I haven't read all of the werewolf books out there...there are tonnes, but I out of all the ones that I have read, I felt that Six Moon Summer was incredibly unique.
Also, I thought that the title was absolutely perfect for this book, seriously PERFECT! See, in Six Moon Summer, it takes a person who is transitioning into becoming a werewolf six moons to complete the entire transformation. The six moons refers to 3 full moons, and 3 new moons, so in all it equals around 3 months. I've never read a werewolf story where the transition is in this kind of process, so I thought it was fantastic and incredibly unique. :D
Now the characters. I really liked the main character Rylie. First, she has a sweet name! I have an irregular spelled name, so I won't lie, I love it when characters have names that are spelled differently too, it automatically makes me like them a little bit more...not enough to bias me, but enough for me to want to give them a high five or a solid fist bump. Second, she was kind of a brat at the beginning, but I kind of felt like it was justified. She was pretty much exiled to camp so that her parents could complete all of their divorce dealings, and once she gets to camp, everybody treats her like crap and hates her. I honestly couldn't blame her for wanting to stay in her cabin and never talk to the other girls. Eventually, after she's been bitten Rylie's attitude changes quite a bit, could be from the transformation, or it could just be her growing up, either way, by the end of the book I thought she was an admirable character and I really liked her. :)
Seth...oh that mysterious sexy Seth. Did I mention mysterious, well he was, very. To keep Seth mysterious...and thus sexy, for everyone, I'm only going to stick to the basics with him. I absolutely loved him. He was kind of sketchy at times, but I couldn't help being drawn to him...probably because Rylie couldn't either. :P
The story itself was awesome! It totally made me remember the one time I went to camp...we even had a dance too. I loved that it was a realistic story even though becoming a werewolf might not be that believable if it really happened. I didn't know that there was going to be a sequel until I went onto Goodreads and saw it on there, and boy was I relieved. Six Moon Summer definitely ends on a cliffhanger, and it's one that will surely have you anxious for more! :D
I would recommend Six Moon Summer to all paranormal fans, especially ones partial to werewolves, and I'd also recommend it to someone who wants to read a paranormal but doesn't know where to start. This would be a fantastic book to read if you've never read anything paranormal before, and it's good for those of us who read it up like crazy too. ;)
Ambur: Hey Sara! Thanks so much for stopping by at my blog, I’m glad to have you here! :D
Sara: Thanks so much for having me!
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and about Six Moon Summer?
Six Moon Summer is a wonderfully angsty tale of teenage troubles, summer camp, and evil monsters with a taste for human flesh. I’m a writer who is not very angsty, definitely not a teenager, and prefers escargot to soylent green.
I’ve read books with werewolves in them before Six Moon Summer, but I definitely think that your book is one of the most unique. What inspired you to write a story about werewolves and to give their transition into a full blown werewolf such a unique spin?
I have to make a little confession: I’m not really a big fan of vampires or werewolves. I’ve seen a couple movies and I’ve skimmed the essentials, like Anne Rice and Stephenie Meyer, but I’m not going out of my way to pick up werewolf books. So I have no idea what people normally expect from the genre! I’m always pleasantly surprised (and deeply appreciative) when people tell me my wolves are unique, but I would be full of it if I claimed to have any special inspiration.
I absolutely loved Rylie and Seth. Rylie was spunky and she was passionate, and Seth was mysterious and incredibly sexy. Did you have any inspiration for their characters, or for any of the other characters in Six Moon Summer?
Rylie was partially inspired by a couple girls I didn’t like in school! You can probably tell early in the book, since she’s kind of a pain in the butt, but she redeems herself by the end. Seth, I admit, is somewhat modeled after my fourth grade boyfriend, who wore a leather jacket almost every day. He thought he was the Fonze, or maybe John Travolta from Grease. It was swoon-worthy in elementary school, believe me.
Rylie was passionately against eating meat, and very vocal about being a vegetarian, so it made me a bit curious. I love animals myself, but I could honestly never give up meat, I like bacon too much. :P So I was wondering, are you a vegetarian too, or did you just decide it was perfect for Rylie’s character?
I love animals and I sympathize with the cause of vegetarians/vegans, but I’m an avid omnivore. While I don’t want to cause animal suffering, I like to have a well-rounded diet. Ribs and steak and bacon (bacon!!) are too delicious. So no, Rylie and I don’t share this ideology at all.
Six Moon Summer has a sequel coming out called All Hallows Moon, can you tell us a bit about it?
I originally intended Six Moon Summer to stand alone, but early readers desperately wanted to see what happened to Rylie and Seth after the conclusion. I realized the two of them still have a lot of story to be told, so rather than extending Six Moon Summer to show more, I decided to separate it out into an entire series.
What was it like deciding to self-publish your book? And do you have any advice for other authors contemplating self-publishing?
I’m planning my own small publishing company to publish the books I like to read, so what better way to practice techniques than to use my own manuscripts as a guinea pig? My advice to other authors is this: Take it seriously, take your time, do your research, and do it right. Indie publishing is just as much work as traditional publishing, and readers can reject you as easily as any agent. Don’t take it as the “easy” road, because it’s not.
Anything else you’d like to share?
How about a random fact about Six Moon Summer for those who have read it? I originally intended Louise and Jericho to be involved in a relationship-- but the scenes didn’t fit and had to be cut!
Thanks for stopping by! It was fantastic having you here! :D
Thank you!
