DESCRIPTION
Trouble.
One word that comes to mind when someone talks about me. I like to think of it as protection, watching out for the ones I love. But now I’m spending more time in the penalty box than on the ice and the team owner isn’t happy.
Finding myself across the room from the hot therapist I kissed on New Year’s Eve only makes me push my problems down further. I want couch time with her but not the kind she’s used to.
I decide to lie to her just to finish off my therapy so I can do what I really want—date her—even if she says she doesn’t date hockey players. Just when my therapy sessions are up and I’ve made some headway with Paisley, it’s my parents who throw another wrench in my plans.
If I abide by my parent’s wishes to marry the one they’ve chosen, I’ll lose Paisley forever. But if I go against my parents, I’m failing my deceased best friend all over again.Buy Link: https://books2read.com/ttw9
REVIEW
I'm absolutely loving Piper and Rayne's foray into hockey romances with their Hockey Hotties series, and this one was great! Piper and Rayne are experts at flushing out side characters and creating friendships, and groups that you can't help loving and with their Florida Fury hockey team, they've definitely done this again! I love seeing all of the boys interact with each other, and it's so great to get to know more and more of them with each book!
As for the romance, I thought that the chemistry between Paisley and Maksim was absolutely phenomenal! I loved their banter, their dates, and how their relationship grew. My one real issue was with the communication in this book. Communication is the usual issue between couples in romance, so I can't say that I wasn't expecting some miscommunications, but I have to admit that I wasn't really satisfied with how these two worked through things at all. I was definitely glad that they worked through things, but I didn't feel like they ever fully worked things out to be honest, so instead of feeling satisfied when they made up, I was left feeling rather frustrated. I did still like their romance, but I'm still feeling a little bit conflicted over their arguments since they felt so unresolved.
Overall, I really liked THE TROUBLE WITH #9. It was super steamy, and an interesting addition to the series--once I started, I didn't want to put it down! I'm definitely looking forward to seeing Paisley and Maksim showing up in future books...and I'm extremely excited for Ford's book next. I cannot WAIT to see what happens in his story since it already features a couple of my fave tropes...I also just can't wait to learn more about Ford. :P I'd recommend the Hockey Hotties series and THE TROUBLE WITH #9 to contemporary romance fans who like their stories spicy, sweet, and fast-paced.
