In "Cover Catch-Up" I share some covers that have either been recently
revealed, or that I've just found and really wanted to share.
It's been a while since I've posted a Cover Catch-Up, and I've been pretty absent from my blog lately, but I'm going to try to get back into posting regularly, so hopefully you'll be seeing more of these posts soon. :D
Today I've got two upcoming fantasy books that I'm seriously excited for, and the covers are gorgeous!
The first cover I have to share today is for TRAVELER by L.E. DeLano!
TRAVELER (Traveler #1) by L.E. DeLano
Publisher: Swoon Reads
Release Date: February 7, 2017
Description:
Jessa has spent her life dreaming of other worlds and writing down stories more interesting than her own, until the day her favorite character, Finn, suddenly shows up and invites her out for coffee. After the requisite nervous breakdown, Jessa learns that she and Finn are Travelers, born with the ability to slide through reflections and dreams into alternate realities. But it’s not all steampunk pirates and fantasy lifestyles…Jessa is dying over and over again, in every reality, and Finn is determined that this time, he’s going to stop it… this Jessa is going to live.
Whew! This description gets my heart pumping, and this cover looks soooo pretty! I love the blue, and the labyrinthine spiral with the pirate ship! I lso love books about time travel and travelling through parallel universes, so this one sounds right up my alley!!
My second cover that I'm sharing today is for WINTERSONG by S. Jae-Jones!
WINTERSONG by S. Jae-Jones
Publisher: Thomas Dunne
Release Date: February 7, 2017
Description:
Beware the goblin men and the wares they sell.
All her life, nineteen-year-old Liesl has heard tales of the beautiful, mysterious Goblin King. He is the Lord of Mischief, the Ruler Underground, and the muse around which her music is composed. Yet, as Liesl helps shoulder the burden of running her family’s inn, her dreams of composition and childish fancies about the Goblin King must be set aside in favor of more practical concerns.
But when her sister Käthe is taken by the goblins, Liesl journeys to their realm to rescue her sister and return her to the world above. The Goblin King agrees to let Käthe go—for a price. The life of a maiden must be given to the land, in accordance with the old laws. A life for a life, he says. Without sacrifice, nothing good can grow. Without death, there can be no rebirth. In exchange for her sister’s freedom, Liesl offers her hand in marriage to the Goblin King. He accepts.
Down in the Underground, Liesl discovers that the Goblin King still inspires her—musically, physically, emotionally. Yet even as her talent blossoms, Liesl’s life is slowly fading away, the price she paid for becoming the Goblin King’s bride. As the two of them grow closer, they must learn just what it is they are each willing to sacrifice: her life, her music, or the end of the world.
Goblins!!! Gah, I've had a soft spot for stories involving goblins ever since I read Kiersten Hamilton's Goblin Wars Trilogy (here's my review for the first book, Tyger Tyger), which I absolutely LOVED! I also loved Danielle L. Jensen's Malediction Trilogy, and I really enjoyed Labyrinth when I finally saw it so WINTERSONG sounds absolutely AMAZING to me, and this cover is is so pretty!!! It's so symbolic, and I bet it'll be even more gorgeous in person on the finished cover!
What do you think of these covers?
Do you like them, too?
I love the second book's cover the most! Plus the book itself sounds pretty awesome I'm a big fan of the Goblin Wars trilogy too but I haven't read the final book because I don't want it to be over.
