FIRELIGHT FILLED POST!!! Review, Video, Excerpt...and details for Upcoming FIRELIGHT GIVEAWAY!!

FIRELIGHT by Sophie Jordan!!!

Here's the description on the book jacket:

MY HEART POUNDS IN MY CHEST AS HE DRAWS CLOSER.
I know the precise moment he sees me. He freezes, stills in the water, sinking low, his lips brushing the waterline.
We stare at each other.
It will happen now. He will call the others. They will swarm on me like hungry predators.
Then he moves, swims closer in an easy glide. A muscle feathers the flesh of his jaw, and something flutters in my belly. He doesn't look hard, as I'd imagine. He doesn't look evil. He looks...curious.

My FIRELIGHT review:

I loved this book! It was amazing, and waiting for it to come in from the Book Depository was pure torture. I was so excited to read this book, and it didn't disappoint at all!
The characters were fresh, vivid, and realistic. I wanted to know them. They each had their own personalities, and interesting backgrounds. Jacinda was an amazing protagonist, and her spirit was so fierce. I loved reading about her.
I loved reading about Draki's especially. Draki are descendants of dragons, and Jacinda's one of them. I don't want to give away too much about this book, but I'll share some stuff. There are different kinds of draki, each with specific abilities. You learn about some of these abilities in Firelight, and you even get to see them in action.
I've always been a bit of a dragon fan, and Sophie's interpretation of the newer descendants of dragons was fresh, and incredibly unique. She did a fantastic job weaving together their history, and the way that they've managed to survive and hide for all these years. It made me feel as if maybe draki really do exist somewhere out there. I'm not going to delude myself and look for dragons or anything like that, but I loved how she managed to weave the draki seamlessly into our everyday world.

This story was amazing, and wonderfully done. I fully recommend it and hope that everyone else enjoys it just as much as I did. The next book is called Vanish, and I for one am waiting on batted breath for it to come out! :)

Firelight Video!

Now, here's a teaser from the first chapter!

"Gazing out at the quiet lake, I know the risk is worth it.
The water is still and smooth. Polished glass. Not a ripple of wind disturbs the dark surface. Low-rising mist drifts off liquid mountains floating against a purple-bruised sky. An eager breath shudders past my lips. Soon the sun will break."

If you want to read more, the first 7 chapters are available HERE on the HarperCollins Publishers website.

  3. The only books about dragon that I've ever read were from the Inheritence series by Paolini. I am truly intrigue that the dragon this time is a female! Would definitely love to read this book once I've get the chance.

I'm here from the CEP. Hope you have a great week!
